Tipster says that Samsung will release three new Galaxy Z models next year.
On X, tipster Anthony, also known as @TheGalox_, posted an interesting tweet that listed six Galaxy Z models for 2027. That compares to this year when Samsung released three Galaxy Z models including the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
Samsung might double the Galaxy Z line in 2027
If the tipster, who doesn’t have the best record, is right this time, Samsung will have doubled the number of Galaxy Z phones in 2027. This is what Anthony is looking for from Samsung next year:
- Galaxy Z Slide
- Galaxy Z TriFold2
- Galaxy Z Fold9 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Fold9 Pro
- Galaxy Z Fold9
- Galaxy Z Flip9
The tipster states that we will see “battery, thickness & weight improvements across the board.” Those are three very big things to improve on as better battery life allows users to take their foldable device with them on the road for longer stretches of time.
The Tri-Fold 2 is expected to be the first of the six phones to be released
Additionally, a thinner and lighter device is easier to carry making the 2027 Galaxy Z phones more mobile than ever. The tweet says that the TriFold 2 will be the first of the Galaxy Z line to be released in 2027.
We do know what to expect from the Galaxy Z Fold 9, the Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip 9. What we don’t know is what the Galaxy Z Fold 9 Pro will bring to the table.
I’m excited to see if the Galaxy Z Slide is released in 2027
That leaves the Galaxy Z Slide and this phone has me the most excited. This is a rollable phone that stretches out the display to make it wider and taller. Samsung has displayed a rollable screen in the past as has Motorola.
Motorola displayed a rollable concept phone four years ago
Back in 2022, nearly four years ago, we told you about Motorola’s concept rollable which increased the size of the screen from 4-inches to 6.5-inches. Why a rollable phone? Ross Young, co-founder and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) has said, “I think the rollable concept has a lot of potential to replace that book-type device in my mind because it’s going to be a lot thinner. And it should be a lot lighter.”
Besides the warmer weather, and the longer days, this gives me another reason to look forward to the summer. Samsung typically introduces its Galaxy Z foldable line in July.
