An Egyptian national identified as Mohammed Saleh has reportedly slumped and died in a hotel in the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The development was sighted by Research Newspaper on Sunday from a statement posted on X by security expert, Zazazola Makama.
According to him, the incident happened on Friday night while the 56-year-old was having dinner with three other people at the Abuja Intercontinental Hotel. He stated that the hotel’s security supervisor, Francis Yusuf, reported the case to the Wuse Police Division.
“Sources told Zagazola Makama that the deceased, identified as Mohammed Saleh, 56, slumped while having dinner with three others at the Abuja Intercontinental Hotel, Wuse Zone 4, on Friday night.
“The hotel’s security supervisor, Francis Yusuf, reported the matter to the police, Wuse Division, at about 9:24 p.m. on Friday,” the security expert wrote. Quoting sources, Makama stated that Saleh was rushed to King’s Care Hospital at Wuse Zone 4, before being referred to the Wuse District Hospital, where a doctor confirmed him dead.
He also disclosed that the corpse had been deposited in the hospital’s morgue for autopsy. “The police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident,” he added. There have been cases of foreigners’ deaths being recorded by the police, particularly in Lagos State.
The cause of the death is either said to be natural or connected to health conditions. When contacted, the FCT police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh said she would confirm the development and revert, but was yet to do so as at time this report was filed.
