Oppo Releases A7 Pro With 8,000mAh Battery, IP69K Protection

Oppo A7 Pro just launched in China with an 8,000mAh battery, 120Hz OLED display, 50MP camera, and IP69K water resistance — all starting at $330. It goes on sale September 11, with global variants expected soon. Here’s what the spec sheet actually means for everyday use.

Oppo said the 8,000mAh battery with 45W charging was aimed to retain battery health for years. IP69K water resistance at a $330 starting price is almost unheard of in the budget segment. 120Hz OLED display with 1,400-nit peak brightness brings mid-range screen quality to a budget phone. The phone runs Android 16 with ColorOS 16 out of the box, marking a genuinely modern software experience.

Global availability is expected, with certifications already spotted in Thailand, Malaysia, UAE, and India (where it may launch as the Oppo F35).

Oppo just listed the A7 Pro on its China website, and the spec sheet reads like someone took a mid-range phone and crammed a power station inside it. An 8,000mAh battery in a phone that starts at 2,199 yuan (~$330) is aggressive pricing — and the rest of the hardware doesn’t feel like it was sacrificed to get there. The phone goes on sale September 11 in China, and certification filings suggest a broader rollout is coming.

The A7 Pro features a 6.57-inch flexible OLED panel running at 2,372 x 1,080 resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling. In simpler terms: the screen is sharp, scrolling is smooth, and touch response is fast enough for casual gaming.

Peak brightness hits 1,400 nits, which is respectable for outdoor visibility. The panel also supports 10-bit color depth, meaning you get over a billion colors — a spec that matters most for photo and video viewing. For reference, many budget phones in 2026 still ship with LCD screens at 720p resolution. The A7 Pro’s display is a clear step up.

The interesting aspect is the flexible designation. This likely means the panel uses a CPI (colorless polyimide) substrate instead of glass, making it thinner and slightly more resistant to flex damage — the kind of engineering that usually shows up at higher price points.

8,000mAh is enormous. For context, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra — a $1,200 flagship — has a 5,000mAh battery. The A7 Pro carries 60 percent more capacity at less than a third of the price. Oppo said the battery uses its proprietary BHE (Battery Health Engine) technology to maintain capacity over time. The company claims the cell can retain over 80 percent of its original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles — roughly 4.4 years of daily charging. That’s a meaningful number for budget buyers who keep phones for three to four years.

The 45W wired charging is solid but not spectacular. At this battery size, expect roughly 90 minutes for a full charge. No wireless charging, which is standard at this price. The phone measures 8.8mm thick and weighs around 205 grams — noticeable in your hand but not unreasonable given what’s inside.

In a segment where phones like the Vivo V80 Lite are pushing 10,000mAh and the Honor Play11 leaked with 8,300mAh, Oppo is clearly competing on endurance. The difference here is the A7 Pro combines that battery with a genuinely good OLED display — most battery-focused budget phones compromise heavily on the screen.

The A7 Pro runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Max, clocked at up to 2.4GHz. This is a 6nm chipset designed for efficiency rather than raw power. In practical terms, it’ll handle social media, messaging, web browsing, streaming, and casual games without issue. Demanding 3D games will need to run on reduced settings.

RAM options are 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X, paired with 256GB UFS 2.2 storage that’s expandable via microSD. The 4,300mm² vapor chamber (VC) cooling system is a nice touch — it helps prevent thermal throttling during extended use.

Oppo ships the phone with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16, which means buyers get the latest Android features out of the box. This is worth noting because many budget phones from other brands still launch on Android 15 or even 14 with a promise to update later.

The rear camera is a 50MP f/1.9 sensor with autofocus and LED flash, housed in a horizontal pill-shaped module. The front camera is 8MP, suitable for video calls but not selfie-focused social media use.
