Google announces smartphones to get AirDrop support

Google has finally brought support for AirDrop wireless file transfer technology to Android via QuickShare in November 2025. Since then, the feature has been available on some Pixel models and a few other smartphones, but that will soon change.
During the Android Show on May 12, the company revealed a list of smartphones that already support the technology, as well as those that will be coming “soon.”
In a separate comment to The Verge, Google also noted that Xiaomi devices will also get AirDrop this year, but without specifying specific models.
Currently, the AirDrop equivalent via Quick Share is already available on Google’s Pixel 10 and Pixel 9 series smartphones, as well as the Pixel 8a.
Among other manufacturers, the feature is supported by the Samsung Galaxy S26, OPPO Find X9, Find N6, and vivo X300 Ultra. In the future, support for this technology will appear on the Samsung Galaxy S25 and S24 series, Galaxy Fold7 and Fold6, Flip7 and Flip6, and Galaxy TriFold.
In addition, it will be available on the OPPO Find X8 series, OnePlus 15, HONOR Magic V6 and Magic8 Pro. As Google mentioned the other day when talking about the key changes in Android 17, users can now create QR codes to quickly share data with iOS devices via the cloud.
In the future, Quick Share will also be integrated into more applications, including WhatsApp. Recall that at the Android Show, Google also made a number of other announcements, including introducing Googlebooks, a task automation system in Android – Gemini Intelligence, as well as the largest update to Android Auto in 10 years. In addition, the company announced the integration of Gemini into Chrome for Android.
