BMW Group-owned Mini has given its compact electric Aceman SE a brand new look with an Ocean Wave Green finish and other eye-catching looks.
Made for city driving, the five-door EV has a small footprint, room for five people, and a versatile luggage compartment. In addition, its electric powertrain produces 160 kilowatts (kW), or 218 horsepower. It furthermore offers up to 252 miles (405 kilometers) of range under the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) testing cycle.
The new Ocean Wave Green finish is designed to highlight some of the Aceman’s most unique styling features. These include its clean body lines, short overhangs, and strong proportions, which give the electric crossover a bold and recognisable appearance.
Inside, the EV features a circular OLED display running Mini Operating System 9. It also comes with a range of driver assistance and convenience features, including navigation, entertainment, and various vehicle settings.
A splash of green
The Ocean Wave Green is the Aceman SE’s main feature. The colour highlights the crossover’s clean body lines, short overhangs, and muscular proportions. According to BMW, it combines contemporary electric mobility with compact dimensions, generous interior space and distinctive Mini design. The design is intended to provide more space and versatility than a traditional small car without becoming a large SUV.
The German luxury carmaker reported that one of the vehicle’s main selling points is the attempt to maximize its interior space while keeping its exterior dimensions compact.
Despite its city-friendly footprint, the five-door crossover can accommodate up to five adults. Its luggage area can be configured to provide up to 35.5 cubic feet (1,005 liters) of space. That gives owners room for everything from groceries and suitcases to equipment for longer trips. The design is intended to make the Aceman practical for both crowded city streets and everyday family use.
The vehicle is powered by a 160-kilowatt (kW) electric motor that produces 218 hp. As with other battery-electric vehicles, the power delivery is immediate. The electric setup has also been developed to retain the brand’s characteristic go-kart-like driving dynamics, despite the move away from a combustion engine. Across the broader all-electric Aceman lineup, output ranges from 135 to 190 kW depending on the version.
The EV offers a WLTP combined range of between 237 and 252 miles (382 and 405 kilometers), depending on its configuration. The electricity consumption is rated at between 14.0 and 14.8 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per 62 miles (100 kilometers) under the same testing standard. The broader Aceman range uses batteries with capacities ranging from 38.5 to 49.2 kWh. These specifications allow the Aceman SE to serve as more than a short-distance urban EV. Its maximum claimed range offers drivers the ability to tackle longer journeys between charging stops.
In addition to the exterior upgrades, the vehicle boasts a circular OLED display as the technological centerpiece of its interior. It runs on a Mini Operating System 9, and brings navigation, entertainment, and vehicle settings together in one surface.
The circular shape is also a modern interpretation of the large central instruments that have appeared in Mini vehicles. Additionally, the Aceman features the Intelligent Personal Assistant, which allows occupants to interact with certain vehicle functions.
The digital-focused cabin is made to reduce complexity and keep major controls and information easily accessible from the center of the dashboard. The carmaker equipped the EV with an infotainment system and automatic climate control, along with safety technologies including lane keeping assistance as well as parking assistance. The driver-assistance features are designed to make everyday urban driving easier and improve the awareness of the vehicle’s surroundings.
