Samsung Electronics on Thursday unveiled its Galaxy S26 FE, with a price tag of $700, a $50 increase over its predecessor.
The handset will be available from select carrier partners on September 3, with direct sales from Samsung and other retailers beginning on September 4.
The Galaxy S26 FE uses a processor from MediaTek Inc. instead of the Qualcomm Inc. silicon found in the standard S26.
The device contains 12 gigabytes of memory and offers fewer on-device artificial intelligence features than Samsung’s pricier models. Its camera system also delivers lower image quality compared to the company’s higher-end devices.
The phone ships with One UI 9, based on Android 17, making it the first Samsung device to run the company’s latest software.
The S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra currently remain on One UI 8.5 while users beta-test the more recent version ahead of a wider roll-out.
The handset includes a 6.7-inch display with a 120-hertz refresh rate. The phone’s 4,900-milliampere-hour battery can charge to 69 percent in roughly 30 minutes when using a 45-watt charger, Samsung said.
The Galaxy S26 FE is available in three colors: Graphite, Pistachio and Blueberry. The device features an aluminum alloy frame and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, along with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
