Firm trains over 60 kids on Robotics in Plateau
A technology-driven innovation hub in Jos, Plateau State, Futurefeat Lab, has trained more than 60 school children from the 17 local government areas of the state on skills in robotics, Internet of Things (IoT) and design, with the aum of nurturing creativity and problem-solving among young citizens.
The training, which ended on Saturday with a lively Makeathon, is the grand finale of the 2025 Creators Camp where participants from the age of six to 16, showcased their ability to prototype, troubleshoot, and present solutions to real-world problems.
Speaking at the workshop, founder of Futurefeat Lab, Moses Amama said “what we witnessed today is proof that the future is already here in the minds and hands of these children. Our role is simply to give them the space, the tools, and the encouragement to keep creating.
That is how we’ll build the next generation of problem-solvers and leaders, right here at home. “We design experiences so children learn by doing. The Makeathon showed what is possible when they are given the space to explore these skills. So, the Makeathon where children aged 6–16 exhibited original projects in Robotics, IoT and Design highlighted young people’s ability to prototype, troubleshoot and present solutions to real-world problems, signalling a fresh chapter in hands-on learning across Plateau State.”
During the high-energy sessions, the budding innovators presented automation concepts, connected devices, and creative prototypes.
Several teams encountered hardware challenges yet adapted with clever alternatives, clearly explaining their processes to evaluators, a demonstration of deep understanding beyond mere finished products. Certificates were awarded to all participants.
