Uganda’s innovation hub repositions for disability-inclusive digital innovation

Uganda’s National ICT Innovation Hub has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Diversity Ability Support Network System (DASUNS) with the purpose of advancing disability-inclusive innovation within Uganda’s digital ecosystem.

The partnership aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two institutions in promoting accessible digital solutions, building capacity and expanding opportunities for persons with disabilities in the technology and innovation sector.

A representative of the National ICT Innovation Hub said the partnership was a reflection of the parties’ commitment to ensuring that digital transformation initiatives are inclusive and accessible to all segments of society.

Under the agreement, both organisations will work together to support the development of inclusive innovation frameworks, enhance accessibility standards in digital services and create pathways for persons with disabilities to actively participate in Uganda’s growing innovation ecosystem.

The collaboration is expected to contribute to broader national efforts to leverage technology for social inclusion, while strengthening Uganda’s position in developing equitable and people-centred digital solutions.
